Kolber's career began with the station in New York City as a CBS Sports video coordinator. She received an Sports Emmy while working at WTVJ-TV, Miami. She worked for WPLG-TV, Miami as well as WPEC-TV West Palm Beach. The station was selected as an anchor for ESPN2 in 1993, when the channel launched for the first time.
